When something that was once considered not worth saving suddenly finds worth again, we call it Reclaimed.
I know all about reclaiming that which is lost. A common theme in my life — one established in poverty, that turned from education and opportunity into drugs, crime, and finally a life behind bars. But I also know firsthand of what it means to be called to a purpose...to turn everything around...and to have life and all its opportunities restored once again through God’s grace and favor.
The Executive Director of Soteria Community Development Corporation, Jerry Blassingame works to empower individuals and the community through education, affordable housing, financial literacy, community and economic development, and entrepreneurship. Reclaimed is Blassingame's first publication. Recounting his life story, from trauma to triumph, Jerry weaves the stories of his past with insight into societal patterns that shine a light on effectively fighting poverty, incarceration, and the tangled webs they weave. This is a book of both hope and insight.
